Collin is Going to STATE!!!!

Regional Wrestling Tournament was held on Friday, February 11th and Saturday the 12th at Mountain Range High School.  Collin won his first match against  Hinkley High School, this was the first time Collin has tech'd a kid.  What that means is they call the match if you are beating the kid by 15 points.  His 2nd match was against the #1 kid in the State from Pine Creek and Collin lost this one by getting pinned.  Then Collin moved on to the second round on Saturday.  His 1st match of the day he went against Fruita - Monument and Collin pinned this kid in 1:22.  Next up, he went against Smokey Hill High School and won 9 - 6!  Collin is now working himself up and now has to go against Denver East, if he wins this one, he is going for 3rd and 4th place! No matter what, Collin is now going to State!! They take the top 4 kids in each weight division. HE WINS!!  He pins the kid in 4:04!!!!  Now the 3rd and 4th place match is up... Collin goes against Mountain Range and we thought, tied the match 6 to 6 and the Ref waves off Collin's 2 points and Mountain Range wins 6 to 4.  It was a GREAT Day for Collin and we are so proud of him for working so hard and earning his way to State for the 1st time!  State is this Thursday thru Saturday at the Pepsi Center.  GOOD LUCK COLLIN!!!  And let's not forget to mention Cole, he had a tough draw at the Regional Tournament having wrestled the #1 and #5 finishers and going 0 and 2.  He looks forward to next season and is happy to be eating anything he pleases!!
